Dr. Bethel’s educational achievements are a testament to his commitment to medical excellence. He earned his Medical Degree (M.D.) from Creighton University in 1986 and completed his Anesthesiology Residency and Pain Fellowship at the University of Arizona (Phoenix Campus). Additionally, he underwent a Surgical Residency in San Francisco and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Currently, Dr. Bethel also serves as the Chief of Staff at the Arizona Spine and Joint Hospital, where he was previously the Medical Director. His leadership has been instrumental in the hospital’s ongoing success.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bethel has made significant contributions to the Mesa and Tempe communities, including his tenure as a hospital board member during the merger that established the Banner Hospital organization. A proud veteran, he served as an Anesthesiologist in the Army Reserve for eight and a half years, demonstrating his dedication to serving his country.
Dr. Bethel is also an accomplished researcher with five publications to his credit and maintains active affiliations with prestigious organizations such as IPSIS, the Maricopa County Medical Society, and the Arizona Medical Society.
